These terms cover the hosted parts of Zest operated by FreshJuice: this website (cookiezest.com) and the free geo lookup gateway at geo.cookiezest.com. The Zest CMP JavaScript library itself is open source under the [MIT License](/license/) and is yours to use with no conditions beyond that license.

## The geo gateway

`geo.cookiezest.com` is a free, optional service used only when a site owner enables geo/jurisdiction gating in Zest. When a visitor’s browser asks it which privacy regulations apply, the gateway reads the visitor’s IP address from the connection to resolve their country, returns the regulation flags (GDPR, US state laws, and similar), and discards the IP. It stores nothing: no database, no logs, no cookies, no analytics. See the [privacy policy](/privacy/) for details.

## Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the gateway. It is free and unmetered for normal consent-banner traffic; automated bulk lookups, attempts to use it as a general-purpose geolocation database, or anything that degrades it for everyone else may be rate limited or blocked without notice.

## No warranty

The hosted services are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Regulation classification is a best-effort technical helper, not legal advice — site owners remain responsible for their own compliance decisions.

## Changes

We may update these terms or discontinue the free services. The MIT-licensed library is unaffected and will always work standalone.
